{Gentle} Bible Verses To Reflect Upon

{Gentle} Bible Verses To Reflect Upon

This post is part of the Five Minute Friday blog link-up. Where I join up with a community of writers and bloggers of all ages and stages who gather around a single word prompt to free write, unscripted, unedited, for five minutes. Kate said this weeks word prompt is {GENTLE}

Here are a few Bible verses to reflect upon when we need reminders to be gentle.

GO

” Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.”

Ephesians 4:2 (NIV)

” Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.”

Philippians 4:5 (NIV)

” Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Matthew 11:28-30 (NIV)

” A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.”

Proverbs 15:1 (NIV)

” But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. “

Galatians 5:22-23 (NIV)

STOP

Let’s Pray

Dear Abba,

I humbly come before you today to thank you for your gentle ways. Your grace shines upon me. I ask you today to help me to remember to be gentle to others, and teach me to love your people. I pray that my gentleness will reflect you. Abba, I am weary and burdened. I know that you are gentle at heart and will give me rest for my soul. Teach and remind me to be gentle when I speak and to not have harsh words come out of my mouth. I humbly thank you for the fruits of your spirit as your grace shines upon me.

In Jesus Name, Amen.

  1. We really need to bear in Love,
but it is so doggarne tough
to keep the soul within the yard,
    not knowing when enough’s enough.
We really need to look with love
on those we’d truly love to hate,
’cause message comes down from above
that it will one day be too late
to protest that, we, yeah, were there,
to say that we followed law,
to rend our clothes and tear our hear,
and to ignore the fatal flaw
that our judgment and our pride refined
the hell the we ourselves defined.
